Yes, for thousands of patients, we have been able to successfully treat styes over telemedicine. Our platform is faster and less expensive than going to a doctor in person. We also provide far superior care than most patients would otherwise be able to get. Since we just do styes, we stay on top of the medical research. However, there may be some cases that will require the attention of a traditional eye doctor consultation. In that case, we’ll help you get to the right doctor and we’ll give you advice on what questions to ask and what to expect.

StyeGuy is a secure telemedicine platform that connects people with a board-certified ophthalmologist. StyeGuy enables you to receive a private consultation without needing to make an appointment, travel to a doctor’s office or wait around for the doctor to come to you. Our doctor uses your information and photos to provide you with a personalized Stye Treatment advice and if necessary, a prescription Antibiotic or Steroid will be called right into your pharmacy.

Payment

Of course! StyeGuy uses a secure third party system to process any payments. We do not store your credit card information.

The medications that we call in to your pharmacy should get covered by most plans, and we typically use generic medications to save patients money. StyeGuy services are not submitted to your health insurance plan. We are happy to provide you a receipt, which you can submit to your insurance, as some insurance plans will then reimburse you.

StyeGuy accepts all major credit cards (Visa, Discover, AMEX, or Mastercard).

The cost to submit a new case is $89, but can vary depending on physician availability. This fee includes a photo and questionnaire consultation with our doctor. A follow-up consultation, treatment products and other services can be purchased separately. A facetime (video) consultation is separately available, but most patients do not need this service.

Prescriptions

If your condition persists after your prescription runs out, then it is best to seek an in-person appointment to make sure everything is healing well.

Yes, if your stye requires an oral antibiotic or an eyedrop, we will call it into your local pharmacy – usually within 2 hours of submitting the consultation form. Ideally, within minutes!

Restrictions

StyeGuy will work mainly with eyelid conditions such as styes, blepharitis, and lid lesions. For problems concerning vision or the eye itself, it is recommended you see an ophthalmologist.
